Desserts: Honey Cookies

Tein tuossa sunnuntaina ensimmäistä kertaa hunajakeksejä. Reseptin löysin Lunni Leipoo - blogista. Olin yllättynyt kuinka nopeasti keksit syntyivät. Siis taikinan valmistus ja paisto 35 min! Äärettömän helppo resepti ja koostuu aineksista, joita aina löytyy kotona. Itse lisäsin taikinaan vielä ruokalusikallisen vaahterasiirappia, jonka tuloksena keksit maistuivat ihan daim:lta. On sunday for the first time I made honey cookies. I found this recipe from the Lunni leipoo - blog. I was surprised how fast the cookies were done. Dough making and baking took about 35 minutes. So fast! So simple and made of ingredients that you can always find in your home. I added one tablespoon of maple syrup, which made the cookies taste like daim. Yum!

Honey cookies:

100g of room temperature butter

1 dl of sugary

2 tbs of running honey

1 tbs vanilla sugar

2 dl of flour

1/2 ts of baking soda

Heat the oven to 175 degrees of celsius. Mix the soft butter with sugar, add honey and vanilla sugar. Mix the baking soda with flours in a seperate bowl and then add it to the dough. Divide the dough into four parts, tap it lightly in rectangle shape  to a baking paper. If you want, you can press little pattern with a fork. Bake the cookies in the oven for about 12-15 minutes. Then cut the dough parts into bars while they are hot. Let the cool down and enjoy.

 

Tips:

- If you want to have a little flavour, add a touch cinnamon or ginger.

- adding maple syrup makes the cookies taste like daim. =)

Catwalk SS2013: Oscar de la Renta

Kun ajattelen tai näen Oscar de la Rentan asuja, mieleeni tulee aina vain Sinkkuelämää-sarjan  Charlotte. Hänen tyylinsä mielestäni ammentaa täysin Oscar de la Rentan ytimen. Kaunista, modernia, klassista ja amerikkalaista. Kevät/kesän  mallisto on täydellistä mestarin kädenjälkeä. 

   

When I think about or if I see any Oscar de la Rentas clothes, the first thing that comes to my mind is Sex and the City-Shows Charlotte. I think her style draws completely the essence of Oscar de la Rentas style. It´s beautiful, modern, classic and very american. This years spring/summer collection is completely artwork of a master.

Pastels vs Aztec.

Asukuvia on tullut hyvin vähän viime aikoina, johtuen ihan pukeutumiskriisistä. Olen niin kyllästynyt talveen ja tähän jatkuvaan kylmyyteen. Neuleet rupeavat toden teolla jo ärsyttää. En ole ikinä kokenut tällaista ns. "tukosta" pukeutumisen kanssa. Argh.

I´m having a little crisis, right now. Fashion crisis. That´s why there´s been too little outfit pics lately. :( I´ts so so cold all the time and I´m so sick of this winter right now. I really am starting to hate knits in my closet. I´ve never have this kind of block when it comes to getting dressed. Argh.

H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection 2013

Olen niin innoissani. Viime vuoden tapaan myös tänä vuonna H&M:ltä tulee Conscious Exclusive - mallisto. Myöskään tänä vuonna mallisto ei tuota pettymystä. Upeat iltapuvut ovat saaneet inspiraationsa vanhan ajan Hollywood-glamourista. On mahtavaa, että näinkin upeat asut ovat valmistettu luonnonmukaisista materiaaleista. Mallisto tulee myyntiin 4 huhtikuuta hm.comiin ja valikoituihin myymälöihin. Keräsin kollaaseihin malliston naisten puvut ja asusteet.

I´m so exited. This year again we´re going to see H&M´s Conscious Exclusive Collection. Also this years collection ain´t going to disappoint you. Gorgeous gowns have taken their inspiration from old Hollywood glamour. It´s so amazing that these beautiful gowns have been made from sustainable materials. Collection will be available on online and selected stores in 4th of april. I made collages from the women collection.

Recipe of the week: Club Sandwich

Tämä Club Sandwich ohje on oma muokkaukseni Sara la Fountainin versiosta. Kokeilin tätä viime viikolla ja on se vaan aina niin hyvää. Oikein maukasta maanantaita. =)

Club Sandwich (4 annosta):
12 siivua paahtoleipää (itse käytin täysjyvää)
170g amerikan pekoni
2 broilerinrintafileetä
3 siivua cheddar-juustoa
nippu cosmopolitan-salaattia
1 avokado
3 tomaattia

Chilimajoneesi:
6 - 7 rkl Hellmann´s kevyt majoneesia
Oman maun mukaan Tabasco-kastiketta
(voit halutessasi lisätä myös ketsuppia)

1. Esivalmistele vihannekset. Pese salaatti ja tomaatti. Siivuta tomaatit ohuiksi. Riko salaatti siivuiksi. Kaiva avokadon sisällys esiin ja tee ohuita siivuja. Tee majoneesi erillisessä kulhossa valmiiksi.

2. Paista broilerinfileet pannulla kypsiksi. Laita kypsien ja lämpimien fileiden päälle cheddarjuustosiivut (molempiin 1 1/2). Siivuta broilerinfileet.

3. Ruskista pekonit paistinpannulla, niin että ne tulevat kauniin ruskeaksi ja rapeaksi. Ota pekonit kuivumaan keittiöpaperin päälle. 

4. Pidä paistinpannu edelleen lämpimänä ja laita kolme paahtoleivänsiivua paistumaan. Paista molemmin puolin kauniin ruskeaksi.

5. Aloita leivän kokoaminen niin, että laitat alimpaan kerrokseen majoneesia, salaattia (2-3 siivua), tomaattia (2-3 siivua) ja pekonia (2-3 siivua). Laita päälle leipäsiivu. Aloita toisen kerroksen kokoaminen jälleen laittamalla majoneesia (oman maun mukaan), avokadoa (3-4 siivua) ja puolet yhden broilerinfileen siivuista. Laita leipäsiivu kanneksi.

6. Voit halutessasi puolittaa leivän.

I love a good sandwich. I mean who wouldn´t? This club sandwich recipe is my own twist from Sara la Fountains recipe. Did this last week and it was just so good. Have a tasty monday =)

Club Sandwich (4 portion):

12 slices of wholegrain toast

170g American bacon

2 chicken fillet

3 slices of cheddar

bunch of cosmopolitan salad

1 avocado

3 tomatoes

Chilimayonnaise:

6-7 tbs of Hellmann´s light mayonnaise

Tabasco-sauce 

(if you like you may add a little ketchup)

1. Prepare the vegetables. Wash the salad and the tomatoes. Slice tomatoes into thin slices. Break the salad. Dig the content of avocados, then slice them. Mix the mayonnaise in a separated bowl.

2. Roast the fillets in a frying pan. But a 1 1/2 cheddar slice on top of the cooked chicken fillets. After this slice them. 

3. Brown the bacon slices on a frying pan, until they´re perfect to your eyes. Take the bacon slices from the pan and let them dry on top of a paper.

4. Keep the pan still warm and put three slices of toast to roast. Warm them until they´re nicely brown and crunchy.

5. Start assembling of the sandwich, so that you put the lower layer first. Put a little bit of mayo, 2-3 slices of salad, 2-3 slices of tomato and 2-3 slices of bacon. Put a toast slice on top of this. Start the upper layer. Put a little bit of mayo again, 3-4 slices of avocado and a half of chicken fillet slices. Put a toast slice on top this.

6. If you like you may cut the sandwich in half, so it´s easier to eat. =)

Wedding day.

Olin eilen rakkaan ystäväni häissä. Häät järjestettiin Maskussa sijaitsevassa Kankaisten kartanossa. Itselläni tuli tippa linssiin heti morsiamen astellessa. Taustalla soi pianosäestys Twilight - elokuvasta, jonka nimeä en nyt muista ja sepäs vasta vaivaakin minua :D En siis ole mikään Twilight fani, mutta tietyistä jutuista kyseisestä sarjasta pidän. Häät olivat ihanan nykyaikaiset, ruoka oli loistavaa ja tunnelma iloista.

Yesterday I was at my dear friend´s wedding. The Wedding took place in Kankaisten manor in Masku. Ceremony was very beautiful and moving. When the bride walked on the backround was played by piano a song from Twilight (which I can´t remember now and that just bothers me :D) I´m not a huge Twilight fan but there are few things I like about it. The Wedding were modern, food was amazing and atmosphere cheerful.

Catwalk SS2013: Isabel Marant

Olen nyt jo muutaman sesongin ajan tuntenut vahvan tunteen western/ cowgirl - trendiä kohtaan. Rakastan bohotyyliä yli kaiken ja mielestäni western tuo siihen jotain mukavan raikasta ja alkukantaista. Isabel Marantin viimeisimmät mallistot ovat puhutelleet molempiä tyylejä hyvin vahvasti. Voin kertoa, että olen ehkäpä jopa sairaan pakkomielteisen innostunut mallistoista. :D

For a few seasons I´ve been having this strong attraction towards the western/cowgirl trend. I love bohostyle more than anything and I think western gives a little new and modern twist to it. There´s also something very primitive in it which I just love. Isabel Marant´s latest collections have spoken both of these trends very strongly. Let me tell you that I´m so obsessed with these collections. :D

 Tänään on siis naistenpäivä ja olen kyllä ehdoton naisfani. En sano että olisin feministi, mutta kannustan aina naisia. Jokainen nainen on upea kaikkine personallisuuksineen :D. Olen ylpeä saadessani olla nainen. Valitsin siis top viisi kappaletta, jotka ovat auttaneet minua, kun mieli on vaipunut synkkyyteen. On kyse sitten ollu rakkaushuolista, itsetunto-ongelmist ym. Haluan myös omistaa tämän päivän siskolleni, jolla on syntymäpäivä. Ihanaa Naisten Päivää!!

So today is womes day and I´m absolutely a womenfan. I wouldn´t say that I´m a feminist, but I´ll always stand up for women. Every women is fabolous in their own way and with their many personalities :D. I´m proud of being a women. That´s why I chosed these top five songs, that have helped in the past so much. I also want to dedicate this day to my sister, cause´ its her birthday. Happy Womens Day for everyone!!

Recipe of the week: Ham pie

 

 

Teinpä tänään pitkästä aikaa kinkkupiirakkaa. Piirakka on mielestäni myös loistava ruoka, ei pelkästään vain illanistujaisiin. Se täyttää nopeasti ja siitä riittää useammalle kerralle. Ehdottomasti paras kinkkupiirakka resepti on tämä Kinuskikissan versio (täältä). Voit tehdä piirakan myös valmiiseen pakastepohjaan, jolloin se on tietysti nopeampi. Itse jätin reseptistä purjon pois, sillä en pidä siitä. 

I decided to make ham pie, after a while. I think that pies are not just for parties, but also great for lunch or dinner. It fills up quickly and there´s enough for second time. Absolutely the best ham pie is this recipe from Kinuskikissa (here). I try to have the finnish version in here as soon as I´ll have the time.

Catwalk SS2013: Rachel Zoe

"Oh my god". "I die". Nuo ovat muutamat julkkisstylisti Rachel Zoen hokemia. Hänen merkitystä en taida osata edes kuvailla. Olen monta vuotta ihaillut hänen työtään ja etenkin tyyliään. Rakastan hänen ikuista 60 ja 70 - luvun tyyliä. Boho chic. Hänen mottonsa "be glamorous. every day.",on niin totta! Elämän koostuu paljon arjesta ja sinne sitä luksusta tarvitaan. Luen tällä hetkellä hänen kirjaansa "Style A to Zoe" ja olen aivan myyty. Sekä hänen tv-sarjansa on ehdoton suosikkini. Rachel tietää kuinka saada nainen näyttämään upealta ja kuinka luoda tähtihetkiä. En malta odottaa viidennen kauden uusia jaksoja! Hänen kevään/kesän mallisto on ihanan raikas ja niin Zoe - henkinen. Etenkin nuo ihanat minivyölaukut veivät sydämeni.

"Oh my god". "I die". Those are a few slogans from celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. I can´t even tell you how much she means to me and how much she´s had an impact on me. I´ve admired her work so many years and especially her personal style. I just love her eternal late 60´s and early 70´s look. So boho chic. Her mantra "be glamorous. every day" is so true. Life is so much about normal daily life, so you need to have a little glamour in there. I´m reading her book "Style A to Zoe" and I´m just amazed. Also her tv show is my absolute favourite. Rachel knows how to make women look fabulous and how create star moments. I can´t wait for her new 5th season episodes. Also her Spring/Summer collection is modern, fresh and very Zoe-spirited. Especially those lovely mini fanny packs. :D
