Catwalk SS2013: Jean Paul Gaultier

Gaultier, hän on ehdottomasti muotimaailmassa annetun lempinimensä "kauhukakara" veroinen. Hän tekee aina omaansa ja poikkeaa täysin muusta. Hän on kapinallinen rajoja rikkojen. Tätä juuri rakastan Gaultierin mallistoissa. Ikinä ei tiedä mitä tuleva pitää. Sellaista muodin kuuluu olla. Gaultierin kevät/kesämallistossa ei tarvitse jäädä ihmettelemään mistä inspiraatio on tullut. Aikamme popmusiikin ikoneista, tietenkin. Mallistosta tunnistaa välittömästi Michael Jacksonin, Madonnan, Annie Lennoxin, David Bowien, Grace Jones ym. On mahtavaa että vieläkin nuo heidän ikoniset lookit voivat taas olla uutta.

Gaultier, he definitely is the enfant terrible as they call him in the fashion world. He always does his own thing and goes completely different direction than others. He is a rebel, breaking the boundaries. That is just what I love in Gaultier´s collections. You never know what lies ahead. That´s what fashion should be like. When you look at spring/summer collection there is no doubt where the inspiration to it has come from. Our icons from popculture, of course. You see instantly Michael Jackson, Madonna, Annie Lennox, David Bowie, Grace Jones and the others. It´s so amazing that their iconic looks can be new again.
